Vista “Features”

What's different between Windows-XP and Vista?

  1. Gadgets
  2. 3D Aero interface
  3. Live Taskbar Thumbnails
  4. Moved stuff like Search, Run, and Control Panel, Add/Remove programs (now Programs and features), Menu – Microsoft crowds out all other programs. Moved the Recycle dialog to a horizontal approach.
  5. Windows Explorer looks different (Right click on START). The START button needs to SAY “START” – Microsoft may THINK it is the beginning and end of everything, but words have their place. (IMHO)
  6. Security? Windows Defender (slow and bad reviews)
  7. “MY” vs Computer, Documents, etc.
  8. Different or NO drivers for many (?) Applications and devices
  9. MANY shutdown options – no words (again)
Vista versions and (upgrade/full) costs:
Basic: $100/$200
Premium: $160/$240
Business: $200/?
Ultimate: $260/$400
